PRIVACY POLICY
Quiet by design.
Effective 22 September 2026
Terella is a globe you turn with your finger. Its mobile app has no account, advertising or behavioural profiling. Optional install measurement is off until you choose to allow it.
Website and paid web access
The public website presents Terella’s film and mobile store links without a Terella account. The promotional website is in English. When web sales open, Google sign-in will identify the account that owns your web purchase. This does not add an account requirement to the mobile app. YouTube’s embedded player is loaded only when you choose to play the film; YouTube’s own privacy policy then applies.
Web accounts, payments and cookies
When you sign in on the web, we store your verified Google account identifier and email address, together with your purchase identifier and access status. We use these records to restore your paid access, handle refunds and provide support. Google verifies your identity; Terella never receives your Google password.
Paddle processes payments as merchant of record. Card details are entered in Paddle’s checkout and are not stored by Terella. Paddle maintains its own payment and tax records under its privacy policy. Google sign-in is covered by Google’s privacy policy.
An essential, secure session cookie keeps you signed in for up to 30 days. A temporary sign-in session lasts up to 10 minutes. Signing out invalidates the current session. Account and purchase records are stored in the site’s database to maintain access. To request account deletion or help with your data, contact vahapunlu@gmail.com; transaction records may need to be retained where required by law.
What Terella collects
Terella does not send location readings or interactions with the globe to its servers. There is no account or sign-in within the mobile app, crash reporting, advertising, in-app purchase or advertising identifier. Terella does not read your contacts, files, photos, calendar, camera or microphone.
On iPhone and iPad, install measurement is disabled by default. If you allow it, Google Analytics for Firebase receives app lifecycle events such as first open, session start and app update, the app version, a random app-instance identifier and technical device and operating-system information. A coarse region may be derived from the connection address. Terella does not send precise location, country searches, globe gestures, selected countries or custom behavioural events. The iOS build excludes the advertising and vendor identifiers, automatic screen reporting and ad personalisation. You can turn measurement off again on the References page in the app.
If you allow foreground location, Terella takes one low-accuracy reading when it opens and uses it only on your device to begin with your country facing you. It is not stored, logged or sent anywhere, and Terella never tracks location in the background. If you decline, the standard globe opening is used.
What leaves your phone
Terella downloads shared public world data, map textures, ocean currents and research migration tracks. Some layers and historical selections download additional dated files when you open them. Requests carry no Terella tracking identifier or location reading. Globe gestures and country selections are processed on your device; we do not send them as analytics events. If you have allowed iOS install measurement, the limited lifecycle data described above is sent to Google under its privacy policy. The delivery network can see the requested file path, including a layer or date in its name. If you choose to open an external source link, that site receives a normal visit and its own privacy policy applies.
As with any website request, the delivery network necessarily sees the connection address and standard request headers. Terella does not use this information to profile users, combine it with other data, sell it or share it. Delivery is provided by Cloudflare; its handling of network data is described in the Cloudflare privacy policy.
What stays on your device
A small cache keeps the latest world data and versioned visual assets so the globe opens quickly. Terella also remembers whether the three introduction cards have been shown, your colour-palette preference and, on the web, your chosen language. These preferences and cached files stay on the device; optional iOS install measurement is the exception described above. Clearing app storage or uninstalling removes the local data.
Children and changes
The mobile app contains no advertising, in-app purchases, social features, user-generated content or messaging. Optional install measurement is disabled unless it is affirmatively allowed and can be turned off again in the app. If this policy changes, the effective date above will change.
